Things To Do in San Antonio, Texas

Are you looking for a place to getaway with your sweetheart for the weekend? I’ve got a suggestion for you! My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary in Downtown San Antonio. It was SO much fun!

I’ve compiled our top 5 things to do for a fun filled weekend. I hope you enjoy!

#5 – El Mercado

Take a stroll hand in hand through the
El Mercado district, and shop the many unique handcrafted Spanish items.
If it’s lunch time, stop by one of the many food vendor booths and eat some delicious, authentic Gorditas. YUM!

#4 – The Saga

Visit the San Ferdinand Cathedral at
115 Main Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205.
There is the most amazing 24 minute light show projected on the outside walls of the cathedral every Friday & Saturday evening beginning at 9:00pm. You’ll see a brilliantly created laser light show featuring the
History of San Antonio.

#3 – The Alamo & Missions

Remember the Alamo.
There are four other missions to visit in addition to the Alamo. I recommend starting at Mission Espada and ending with Mission San Jose. You can take the bus which is located right outside the Alamo.
It runs every 10 to 30 minutes.

#2 – Tower of the Americas

#1 – Riverwalk

Dun dun duh……The Riverwalk is 15 miles long, but the downtown loop is only about 5 miles. This is where you want to eat, drink & sleep for the weekend. There are several restaurants, a couple malls & a few hotels right off the Riverwalk. Bring your comfy shoes because you’ll be walking a lot. Which might not be a bad thing because you’ll want to work off all that Tex Mex you’ll be eating! SO. GOOD.

One more thing……

I scream, you scream, we all scream for
ICE CREAM!! Choose from many selections at Kilwins on Alamo Plaza because what’s vacation without a little sugar….

I hope you consider my recommendations for a fun weekend with your honey! ✌🏼Savi
